W. Benson Metcalf

Managing Partner & CEO

Benson has a uniquely well-rounded career. He is known as a talented company builder, investor, and operator. A former Bain & Company strategy consultant, PE investor and, most recently, a tech company COO, Benson is a turnaround specialist, growth-oriented executive, and a problem solver with a nose for value. He has been a trusted advisor to some of the world's largest companies as well as a startup executive and board member in the software/technology, manufacturing/industrial, and consumer products sectors. In the last few years, Benson helped execute Pluralsight's IPO and the strategic sale of SaltStack to VMware.

Burgess Cline

General Partner

Burgess is a seasoned entrepreneur who has built, acquired, and sold numerous businesses in the e-commerce, consumer finance, mortgage and real estate industries. He’s also a former Wall Street stock trader and an avid investor. He is currently President & CEO of Intermountain Capital which he founded in 2014. Burgess is the type of business leader that can jump into any business, understand core economic drivers, and glean insights from the financials while deciphering motivations and talents of team members.

Bobby Meinhold

Vice President

Prior to joining 2.0 Ventures, Bobby worked at SaltStack, a B2B infrastructure software company, where he played an important role in the Company's financing strategy and eventual strategic sale to VMware. Before SaltStack, Bobby spent time as an investment banker at Raymond James in their Technology & Services group and is responsible for assisting in over 10 successful M&A and capital raising transactions cumulatively worth over $1 billion in transaction value. Bobby started his career as an analyst at Peterson Partners, a middle-market private equity firm in Salt Lake City.

Janis Kline


Prior to joining 2.0 Ventures, Janis has been CFO in numerous businesses in the industrial, technology, and professional services sectors. A CPA her whole career, Janis has also worked for, founded and led multiple accounting firms; she advises at the University of Utah’s accounting department. Janis brings tremendous practical experience to the fund and our portfolio. She helps our companies establish scalable financial and accounting practices and prepare for acquisition or future rounds of capital.

Our Advisors

Moe Abdula


Moe has made his career building and leading some of the world’s most successful technology teams developing cloud infrastructure and software solutions. He currently leads the Global Solution Architecture team at Amazon Web Services. He led Engineering at SaltStack helping to facilitate the eventual acquisition by VMware. And he spent 20+ years at IBM in a variety of executive leadership roles. He recently co-authored and published a book “Cloud Adoption Playbook” sourced from real-life projects and best practices for technology, culture and process development. Moe was a member of the Arsenal soccer team for several years before he attended the University of Leeds in London. He lives in Raleigh, NC with his family.

Derek Keller


Derek is an experienced financial advisor and dealmaker. He is a Managing Director in the M&A group at Barclays and has advised companies, including multinational corporations and privately owned businesses, on successful transactions across sectors. He focuses on guiding owners and management teams through complex situations, such as corporate carve-outs, spin-offs, cross-border mergers, joint ventures, and going public transactions. Derek earned his MBA at the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and is an alumnus of BYU. He lives in Utah with his wife and children and is an accomplished distance runner.

Ben Bloomfield


Ben is an experienced investment banking professional with a strong entrepreneurial mindset. He currently owns and operates two powersports dealerships in Oregon, and is an active investor in multiple companies across a variety of industries. He spent the first 10 years of his career as an investment banker in Los Angeles where he structured numerous sell- and buy-side transactions across the healthcare and consumer products industries. Ben received an MBA from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business and is an alumnus of BYU. He lives in Oregon with his wife and children.

Greg Woodward


Greg is a tenured finance, operations, and investment professional. He has been a CFO and COO at multiple successful tech companies (notably Pluralsight; 2018 IPO). He was one of the founding operating partners at HGGC (a multi-billion dollar investment fund). He recently advised Banner Acquisition Corp (a newly funded $200M SPAC), and is a board member and advisor to 7 private companies.

Alex Bean


Alex is a successful entrepreneur and investor with an uncanny ability to reflect on past experiences to help others. As the Co-founder and Chief Business Officer of Divvy (acquired by Bill.com for $2.5B). Alex has experience growing, scaling, and leading Go-To-Market and Operations teams at companies of all stages.
